We are pleased to announce two additions to our lineup, George Cleverley and Globe-Trotter.

Since 1958, George Cleverley & Co. has been one of the most respected bespoke shoe makers in England. Today GJ Cleverley continues to make extremely well made bespoke footwear as well as a fine line of ready-to-wear footwear and men’s leathergoods which we will be carrying at Leather Soul. We look forward to receiving our initial inventory of George Cleverley footwear and leathergoods by the end of March.

Globe-Trotter, also from England, is well known for their uniquely strong yet lightweight hand made luxury luggage. Since 1897 they have succeeded to follow their brand philosophy of never compromising the integrity of craftsmanship. Globe-Trotter is now available in-store.

Even with a 7 hour delay due to a tsunami warning throughout the Pacific, we were able to move our shop to our new location this weekend. A 200 foot move from Building A to Building B of the Royal Hawaiian Center proved much easier than our last move accross town. We are still settling in but look forward to serving you in our new home.

This coming week will be a busy time for us. Construction of our new store in Waikiki will be finished by Monday and crews will be in all week installing data lines, security, speakers, and other finishing touches. We will not be able to answer your phone calls immediately this week, but please do leave us a message and we will be sure to call you back as soon as we can.

Please note, we will be closed on Saturday 2/27/10 to move our entire store over to the new location.

We are very sorry for the lack of updates to our website but promise to get back on track as soon as we can!

It’s a very exciting time for us here as we see our new home being built from ground up, step by step. Framing of the walls and shelves are up so the store is finally taking on some shape. Our custom Hawaiian ohia wood store front is being worked on at the woodshop. We can already see how the wide open window will have a very nice impact on our main sales area.

The concept of our new store is to emulate the warm feeling of a home. A “dining” area and a “living” area will be the main focus of the sales floor. We look forward to welcoming you in and making sure you feel comfortable and relaxed.

When I realized my dream and opened Leather Soul back in November 2004, I never imagined that I would be where I am today and it is all because of you.

Five years later, I still wake up and have the same feeling of satisfaction and passion I had back then. I feel blessed to have such great customers, employees, and friends supporting my business.

To commemorate five years of serving you, I would like to introduce the Leather Soul 5th Anniversary Shoe.

The chukka boot continues to be our top seller year after year. Alden’s shell cordovan chukka boot, #1339, is a timeless design. Some of our customers wear them casually, others wear them with suits. For our 5th anniversary model, I wanted to offer the classic chukka design, in a very comfortable, neutral fitting last, with a dressier welt and single oiled leather sole.

If you do decide to purchase a pair, I hope as with all of our shoes, they become a special part of your lives for years to come.

When we first started our preorder e-mailing list we never thought it would get this popular. If you can believe it, membership is currently in the 4 digits! Because of the tremendous amount of emails we will be changing the procedure starting from the next preorder opportunity.

Going forward, we will announce preorder opportunities on our website as blog posts. So, please keep checking our website periodically. We will offer a preorder about once a month.

Seems like we’re always moving…

We are pleased to announce that construction has officially begun on our new location, set to open February 2010. Just about 100 feet away from our current space, our new space will be almost twice the size at 1250 square feet. The expanded space will allow us to serve you better and offer you more, including two new brands yet to be announced.

As always, thank YOU for making this move possible. We are truly blessed to be growing in a “down economy.”

Dear Friends of Leather Soul,

I am extremely pleased to announce that I will be opening a Leather Soul store in Beverly Hills, California!

When I opened my first store back in 2004, I would have never imagined that I would be opening a store on the mainland. I owe it all to you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me throughout the past 5 years.

As things progress I will keep everyone informed as best as I can. As of now, I have secured a wonderful location right in Beverly Hills (next to ample public parking!). I am targeting December or January as an opening date. I am so excited to bring our passion for shoes to Southern California and hope being on the mainland will give us an opportunity to be more accessible to you.
