Tom, what size would I take in these. 7 or 7 1/2 ?
Tom said,

David,
7D would be good for you if 7C Barrie works well.

Tom

Wow.
Were these available for pre-order? When are you ordering some again? I’d love place an order for my size/width for the next batch.

Hello.
I have not tried Grant Last.
Is there a difference in Grant Last though BarrieLast is 7D?
How is there a difference?
Tom said,
on April 5, 2010 @ 9:23 am
Eita,
Thank you for the comment. Yes, there is a difference. If you take 7D in the Barrie, I would recommend trying a 7.5D Grant.
If you are interested please feel free to email takuya@lsfootwear.com or kuni@lsfootwear.com in Nihongo.
Aloha,
Tom

I can not believe that I lacked the vision to order a pair when you sent me the e-mail for pre-orders on this buautiful special make up!
I’m looking forward to others I have in your pipeline but this is one I regret not owning.
Best regards,

Bill,
I don’t want to pressure you, but a 10D may work for you in these…

I bought a pair of snuff suede plain toe flex boots from you (Plaza last, I believe). The size, 8.5 D, is a perfect fit. What would be my size in the Grant last?
Tom said,
on April 8, 2010 @ 10:59 am
Hi Charles,
I would go for a 8.5D in these boots. We currently have them in black but not in brown.

Tom

Hi tom,
My true size is a UK 7.5E for my right foot and 8.0E for my left foot. Conversion to US size would be 8.5C and 9C respectively right? In any case what size would you suggest for this pair? thanks :)
With regards,
Tom said,
on April 10, 2010 @ 9:30 am
Chong,
It really would depend on the maker of your UK sized shoes. A 7.5E could be an 8D or 8.5D, a 8E could be an 8.5D or 9D. We could recommend fitting your larger foot but unfortunately I cannot give you a firm recommendation without seeing you in person or getting better information from you such as Brannock measurement or sizing in other shoes we are familiar with.
Aloha,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Thanks for your earlier response :) my feet were actually measured on a device hence i came to know about how my left foot was bigger than my right foot. It resembles a Brannock Device although not entirely, and it is apparently manufactured by Church’s. When you put your feet on it it shows you your feet size in UK as well as the width. Is that of any help?
With regards,
yuhan.

My boots arrived in DC today, four days after I ordered them. They look and fit great. I’m especially pleased with the leather’s subtle sheen and texture
Tom said,
on April 12, 2010 @ 7:35 pm
Yuhan,
I’m sorry, I am not familiar with that device. General rule of thumb is to size up 1/2 size from UK but again, I cannot be sure without seeing you in person.
Aloha,
Tom

Thanks Charles, glad you like them!
Chong said,

Hey Tom,
Just to clarify the general rule of thumb which you’ve mentioned. So i just take my UK size and upsize it by 1/2 to get my size – is the new size in UK or US? Therefore if i upsize mine from UK 8, will it be UK8.5 or US 8.5?
Thanks and regards,
Chong

Was wondering what sizes you had in Brown or if any would be available in the near future? Very interested in these boots!

Christopher,
Please let me know your size and I will check our stock.

Chong,
The general rule of thumb is US size equals UK size plus 1/2. So, if your UK size is 8, you would most likely be a 8.5 US.

Tom

I have never owned Aldens before, only dress shoes I have are Hugo Boss and they have 71/2 stamped on the bottom. Bought them at Holt Renfrew here in Canada, they fit perfectly. Any suggestions on sizing based on that? I know you can’t give a definitive without seeing me, but Ottawa is about a world away from you, and sadly no one here seems to carry Alden so cannot go in to just size myself out.
Tom said,

Christopher,
If you can get measured on a Brannock device, I would be able to make a recommendation, Sorry, I have no idea how Hugo Boss shoes fit unfortunately.

Tom

Hi Tom one last question! Meaning if my feet size was measured size UK8 on a Brannock Device you would recommend me to go for US8.5 for this pair of shoes? In general. Thanks and regards :)
Tom said,
on April 17, 2010 @ 8:04 am
Chong,
The Brannock device only measures US size.
Please note the width and arch length as well as the length.

Tom

Hey guys,
Do you happen to have any 9.5′s left in the brown?
An aside: when you do pre-orders for these gnarly alden collaborations, do you post them on your site? (Newbie question – just discovered this gem of a store!).

sorry a bit of a noob qn;
sizes u quote are uk or us?
i’ve been wanting to pull the trigger for a pair of proper shoes/ boots, these seem to fit the bill,
i generally wear redwings in us10e, don’t have decent enough work shoes, but i have a pair of these in a uk9 which i feel are a tad tight.
any help or info would be very much appreciated!
thanks!

Dylon,
Alden is an American brand, made in the USA, so all sizes are listed as US sizes.
Sorry, I have no idea how RWs size. Your best bet is to buy your first pair of Aldens in person so you can get properly fitted.
Aloha,
Tom
