Alden Shoes - The Leather Soul Ultimate Indy Boot

One of the most highly anticipated Leather Soul Exclusive models is finally here!

The Leather Soul Ultimate Indy Boot is our take on the ever popular Alden #405 that Harrison Ford wears in the Indiana Jones movie series. Our release of the Ultimate Indy comes right as the newest Indiana Jones movie is also to be released.

Our Ultimate Indy is made on the same Tru-Balance last, available in Rich Dark Brown or Black Aniline Calfskin (coming soon), and with a Leather and Commando Rubber Sole. It is made to Alden New England standards, just as the dress shoes are, which is a higher standard than the regular #405 Indy. You’ll notice full leather linings, higher grade materials, and general quality improvements from the Foot Balance line.

Available in sizes 6-12D.

(Tru-Balance Last, $450.00)

    Any 10.5’s?

  2. Greg Clary Said,

Do these run big? I normally wear a 10.5 or 11 in dress shoes or tennis shoes. What would you recommend? If I order and they are small then can I return them for a bigger size?

Finally, how long before the black ones are available?

    Thank you

    KJ-

Sorry, we are already sold out of 10.5s.

We will be placing a re-order soon and will be taking deposits for pre-orders. Please email me for details.

    Greg,

The Tru-Balance last does run about 1/2 size large. Unfortunately there is no way for me to give you a recommendation based on that information you provided.

As far as our return/shipping policy, please read our “About” page for more info.

As far as the black ones, I hope to get them soon, but most are already pre-sold. If you know your size, we take pre-orders with a small deposit.

    Aloha,

    Tom

I bought my first pair of Aldens in college in 1983, and after 25 years and many pairs later, I have on my feet what will easily become my favorite pair. I received my Indy’s today and words will do no justice. Thanks, Tom.

Interested in a pair of the brown Ultimate Indy boots. Normally wear size 11.5D. Based on your comment above, I guess I would wear an 11D in this boot. Do you have a pair in my size? Thanks.

  23. Chad Said,

Are these being made in really large sizes? I typically wear a 14D in Allen Edmonds.

  24. Tom Said,

    June 18, 2008 @ 12:49 pm

    Chad,

I’ve just placed a re-order. If you can email me within a day or two I may be able to add your size to the order.

For a size 14D, we would require full payment up front. We expect them to be ready by December.

    Tom

  25. Ben Said,

Are these boots being made by Alden or are you guys getting them made elsewhere?

  26. Tom Said,

    June 19, 2008 @ 6:29 am

    Ben,

Not to be rude, but that was the funniest question yet. Of course they are made by Alden. Please read the description above for more information.

  27. Arne Said,

    Hi Tom,

do you have a 10D left of those?

I usually wear a 10D in my Red Wings (1909,9011,9014) and I heard they go the same size!

    Let me know,
    Arne

  28. Tom Said,

    June 19, 2008 @ 7:46 am

    Arne,

Thanks for the comment. I’m sorry, we are sold out. Our next shipment is due in December. You can pre-order a pair a $100 deposit or try us again when they re-appear on our website.

As far as sizing, I’m sorry, I have no idea how Red Wings fit.

    Aloha,

    Tom

    Tom

No offense taken! The line “The Leather Soul Ultimate Indy Boot is our take on the…” threw me off :)

I wear a 9D in both the 1494 Unlined Chukka Boot and the 9572F Straight Tip Blucher Flex Welt. What would you recommend on sizing for both this boot and the suede version; and is the recommended size available?

  30. Tom Said,

    June 19, 2008 @ 9:06 am

    Ben,

If you wear a 9D in those shoes, I’d recommend a 8.5D for the Indy. Unless you are planning to wear thick socks, in that case a 9D may be ok.

Unfortunately we are long sold out and the next shipment will be around December. We have been taking pre-orders with $100 deposits. Please email me if you are interested in doing a pre-order. If not, you can try us again when we re-post in December.

    Aloha,

    Tom

  31. Mike Said,

Does the width of the trubalance run pretty standard? I read somewhere that they have a rather roomy toebox. your opinion?

  32. Tom Said,

    June 20, 2008 @ 8:26 am

    Mike,

The Tru-Balance last fits about 1/2 size larger than your true-to-size fit. So, if you are a true-to-size 10D US, you would most likely be a 9.5D in the Tru-Balance. The toe box does have a lot of room as it is not an elegant last such as the Plaza or Aberdeen.

    Aloha,

    Tom

    Sir,

I am interested in your Ultimate Indy boot but see that many sizes are sold out. When I visited your shop a year or two ago we figured my size is a 10.5 D on the Barrie last. My current Alden high top boots are 11 B/D, whatever that means..maybe that means Barrie last with D width. These are a little long for me.

    Questions-
    1) what size do you recommend for me in this boot on the True Balance Last?
    2) Is that size in stock and if not, what deposit do you require from me to reserve a pair of these boots in your next order, due in December?

    Thank you-

  34. Tom Said,

    July 8, 2008 @ 5:27 pm

    Carrington,

You would be the same size as you would be in the Barrie-10.5D. We are currently sold out unfortunately. If you would like to pre-order a pair for our December shipment, please send me an email directly and I will email you an order form to fill out.

    Aloha!

    Tom

Another winner for Tom and Leather Soul. I love shoes in general but the one reason I buy Aldens is Tom and his superior customer service. Try to find Tom’s level of service from one other Alden dealer,…

Am very interested in getting a pair of the Alden Indy boot in dark brown. I normally wear 10.5 or 11, D width. Since they run a bit large, I assume that the 10.5 should be good. Please tell me if they are back in stock and if not, how I can order. Thanks in advance.

  37. Tom Said,

    Dale,

Thank you for your comment. We are expecting our next shipment in November/December. Please email us if you would like to order a pair.

    Tom,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve just faxed your order form with an authorization for a deposit on a pair of 8.5 D to go along with my current (3-month old) pair. Those soles look like they will really improve my traction come this winter!

Can’t wait, and, to echo others on this thread, thank you for the superb support and service you are providing. You really go the extra mile (or in my case the extra 2949 miles!).
